Americanah
Americanah is a novel about the immigrant experience in America. A Nigerian woman, Ifemelu, leaves her homeland for the US. She is separated from her boyfriend, Obinze, who ends up living illegally in the UK. Ifemelu has trouble getting established in America. This excerpt is about some of her experiences at college where she is studying soon after arriving in the US.
